Clive Nolan (født 30. juni 196I) er en britisk musiker, komponist, tekstforfatter og produsent. Han har spilt en fremtredende rolle i utviklingen av progressiv rock de siste 25-30 årene. Han har vært fast keyboardist i Pendragon siden 1986, Shadowland siden 1992 og Arena siden 1995. I perioden 1993-1994 var han aktiv i Strangers on a Train sammen med Karl Groom og Tracy Hitchings. Han skriver tekster for Arena og har produsert eller vært co-produsent for en mengde andre bands album.

 

I en alder av 16 år ble Nolan til da den yngste musikeren som oppnådde en A.L.C.M-diplom i komposisjon fra London College of Music.

 

Clive Nolan er en høyt utdannet musiker, som spiller både fiolin, cello og bratsj i tillegg til diverse klaviaturinstrumenter. Han er også topputdannet innen komposisjon, orkestrering og arrangering. Han er kåret til årets beste keyboardspiller hele åtte ganger av Classic Rock Society.

 

Nolan har i tillegg til progrocken skrevet to musikaler: She og Alchemy. Begge har vært fremført som teater og sceneshow, i tillegg til å være filmet for DVD.

 

For å promotere og sette opp sine musikaler, har Nolan opprettet the Caamora Theatre Company. I 2015 ble kontakten mellom Clive og Hurum Progrock Society (HPS) opprettet, og i 2016 ble Caamora Norway en offisiell del av The Caamora Theatre Company. Caamora Norway vil sette opp Alchemy i mai 2017, og Clive vil selv synge hovedrollen som professor Samuel King.

Clive Nolan

 

Clive Nolan (born 30 June 1961 is a British musician, composer, lyricist and producer. He has played a prominent role in the recent development of progressive rock. He has been the regular keyboard player in Pendragon since 1986, Shadowland since 1992, Strangers On A Train (1993-1994, with Karl Groom and Tracy Hitichings) and Arena since 1995, as well as writing lyrics for Arena and producing or co-producing several other bands' albums.

 

At the age of sixteen, Nolan became the youngest musician in England (at the time) to gain an "A.L.C.M" composition diploma from the London College of Music.

 

Clive Nolan is a music graduate, holding both a B Mus and M Mus. Nolan played violin, cello and viola, although his main study while at university was composition, orchestration, musikal arrangement and conducting. He is awarded best keyboard player eight times by the Classic Rock Society.

 

Besides his work for progressive rock music, Nolan has written and composed two musicals: She and Alchemy. Both have been performed as theater and stage shows, in addition to being filmed for DVD.

 

To promote and set up his musicals, Nolan has created the Caamora Theatre Company. In 2015, contact between Clive and Hurum Prog Society (HPS) was established, and in 2016 Caamora Norway became an official part of The Caamora Theatre Company. Caamora Norway will set up Alchemy in May 2017, with Clive in the leading role of Professor Samuel King.
